If an opera is like a great film, then an overture is its advert. In just a few minutes, they set the mood and give a hint of what's to come, not to mention requiring a composer to use an incredible array of musical tricks in the process.

In this Family Concert, expect a time-travelling adventure as we meet heroes, step into all kinds of stories and discover the many characters of the orchestra. There to guide you are 33 musicians, each eager to share the secrets of classical music.

Any questions? After the concert, say hello to the players, try out their instruments and ask away!

Ideal for children aged 5 - 11
