We are delighted to share ‘Marking Up,’ a podcast series created by Southbank Sinfonia at St John’s Smith Square and produced by Communications Officer, Hermione Kellow and Audio Producer, Ben Eshmeade. ‘Marking Up’ is an exciting platform that enables members of staff and the orchestral fellowship to explore in detail the issues currently faced by the classical music industry.
The first four-episodes are available to listen to on various streaming sites including Spotify and Apple Music. They are led by members of the 2020 Southbank Sinfonia fellowship and explore matters including the impact of the Covid-19 Pandemic on their work as young professionals, the issue of funding within the arts and the importance of diversifying traditional orchestral programming.
Later this year, a further four episodes will be made available discussing issues such as the trials and tribulations of auditioning, sustainability within the classical sphere and various areas of musical outreach.
