TRANSITION FUND

Help us keep our new home open and flourishing for the 2022/23 Southbank Sinfonia Fellowship

Southbank Sinfonia at St John’s Smith Square is an organisation in transition. Having merged two much loved cultural institutions in April 2021, we have now established business-as-usual and are planning for the future.

We have employed brand consultant Jo Marsh to help develop our new mission, vision and values, the first step in creating a brand for the unified organisation which houses the unique identities of Southbank Sinfonia and St John’s Smith Square. We will also finalise the long-term plans for our Grade 1 Listed building and what this means for our programming.

Southbank Sinfonia’s work will sit at the heart of everything that is presented at St John’s Smith Square, with international groups continuing to perform regularly too. St John’s will also remain a key venue for amateur, university and school groups with the Footstool Café as a hub to eat, drink and learn more about what we have to offer.

Whilst we continue to work on these plans however, we need help to make up our shortfall. Our turnover is currently £2.1million. Ticket sales and commercial income only covers a proportion of our running costs. This financial year, we need to raise £250,000 to fill the gap.

Please help us to keep our new home open; a home for creativity and young talent.
