Music Director's Appeal 2023

The sky is the limit - music changes lives

Changing the face of classical music

Help us fund creative concert experiences and the technology we need to bring new visions of classical music to life for more people.

Classical music is battling for relevance - often viewed as elitist and lacking in diversity and accessibility. Innovative concert experiences offer a bridge to classical music that can ignite the passion of new audiences and inspire the next generation of virtuosic musicians.

These projects, however, are often cost-prohibitive to produce for Southbank Sinfonia, and we require additional funds to upgrade the infrastructure at our beautiful home, St John's Smith Square, so that we can offer concerts of this type on a regular and sustainable basis, removing the cost of rented equipment.

Please help Southbank Sinfonia at St John's Smith Square to champion the joys and benefits of classical music to even more people, funding the innovative projects, collaborations, and technologies which make possible experiences like our space-themed #ConcertLab: The Night Sky, and our concert-film production of The Snowman. Here's a reminder of our 2019 #ConcertLab, Flux, and all that can be made possible.

Your donations make a huge difference, supporting the creativity and technology needed to embrace new audiences and inspire all music-lovers to step through our doors at St John's Smith Square.

Music has the power to change lives for the better, and together we have the power to share it in all its shapes and forms.
