RUSH HOUR #1: DAWN
Louise Farrenc Overture No.2
Ludwig van Beethoven Symphony No.6 'Pastoral'
Simon Over Conductor

Snow thaws and buds bloom as we greet the new orchestral season with Beethoven’s idyllic ‘Pastoral’ Symphony

Yes, it may still be February but this vivid depiction of the Viennese countryside serves as a fresh beginning for Southbank Sinfonia as we welcome our new 2020 orchestra.

A foreboding introduction of Beethovenian grandeur announces the arrival of French composer and virtuoso pianist Louise Farrenc. As the first woman to be appointed Professor of Piano at the Paris Conservatoire, Farrenc was not one to be intimidated by her male counterparts with this perfectly crafted Overture standing alongside the greats of history in more than equal measure.

Book your free ticket online, then give what you can on the night.

Should you encounter any issues when booking, please email tickets@southbanksinfonia.co.uk

This concert will be one hour long (with no interval).
