Rich, earthy tones ring out as - with the help of gut strings and authentic period bows - we're transported back 300 years to an era where musical rebellion was thick in the air.

Vivaldi’s unique instrument pairings inject visceral energy, while his Italian counterpart Geminiani pays tribute to the great Corelli with his brooding Concerto Grosso. Love affairs and murder of both mortals and gods enthrall us in two dramatic tales from Rameau and Arne.

The orchestra are joined by the winner and runner-up of last years’ Handel Singing Competition performing some of Handel’s most-famous arias.
