Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School

Unlocking musical opportunities

Music plays a central role in the life of Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School, and their extraordinary music department features a wealth of young talent. Side-by-side collaborations with Southbank Sinfonia allow musicians from both organisations to tackle ambitious repertoire, while our players can pass on all they have learned from the professionals to the next generation.

Alongside recent orchestral performances of Brahms Symphony No.4, Shostakovich Symphony No.10 and Rimsky-Korsakov Scheherazade, our players also workshop compositions by the school's A-level students. Our musicians are ideally placed to provide technical feedback and suggestions to young composers, helping their scores communicate everything required on paper and sound as good as possible in live performance.
