Players

Since its launch in 2002, over 900 young players have applied to the orchestra. Our full-time players in 2008 come from England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, France, Spain, Portugal, Denmark, Armenia, Russia, Israel and New Zealand, and have between them attended many conservatoires and universities around the world.

All the musicians selected, including the equally talented associate members (who add less regularly used instruments, or augment our forces for large scale works) have something extra - a spark, a passion, a commitment - making them the new generation of players who can change the musical landscape in the 21st century.
